FASCINATING THOUGHTS
My Dear
Colleagues,
I can see your creased foreheads. I can see the worried look on your
faces. I can see you biting (already bitten) nails, deep in thought, seemingly
oblivious to everything. Courtesy, the changing times. Pressure from wherever
you look at has left you drained so much that you have ceased to enjoy a good
lunch, ceased to sense humor, ceased to read books, articles, ceased to enjoy
the company of kids and family. This is where I would like to share with you my
fascinating thoughts, in the hope that it will cheer you up a bit and ignite
the rusty common sense in you delightfully! Well, then here we go:
·
THERE IS NO LIMIT TO WHAT YOU
CAN ACHIEVE AS LONG AS YOU DON’T MIND SOMEBODY ELSE TAKING THE CREDIT FOR IT
·
I 2 I Principle: We all have
ideas. Seldom do we try to implement them. Let us work on I 2 I PRINCIPLE:
IDEAS TO IMPLEMENTATION
·
P & P APPROACH: Always
looking at the brighter side of life improves your face value. Be on the alert
for customer needs and take suitable steps/decisions to meet them. BE POSITIVE
& PROACTIVE
·
WE MAKE THINGS HAPPEN: Waiting
for things to happen on their own is pretty ordinary and wishful thinking.
“MAKE IT HAPPEN” is what you should aim at.
·
DELIGHTFUL PEOPLE, DELIGHTING PEOPLE:
Let us indulge in delightfully delighting people
·
SYND “eye” CATE BANK: Customer
delight is our mission. Living up to their expectations is passé. At Synd
“EYE”cate Bank, we are constantly trying to Exceed Your
Expectations!
·
DTFY: It is time we became
customer-specific and design schemes / products to suit a particular high
profile customer. We at Syndicate Bank, “DESIGN THINGS FOR YOU” is how I look
at the future. It will add value to our image.
·
WHY WE CAN NOT DO IT V/S
HOW WE CAN DO IT: Customers these days are highly demanding and are not
one bit amused by our “former” principle. Let us try and adopt the “latter”
approach – HOW WE CAN DO IT
·
DON’T MEET THE DEADLINE, BEAT
IT: OG 89 for 17.08.07 is expected to be ready by 18.08.07. For a change, do it
by 17.08.07 itself. Got the point, guys. Beat the deadline, make it a habit.
·
There are 3 ways of doing a
thing: the right way, the wrong way and the SYNDICATE WAY
·
CREATE A BIGGER CAKE, ASK FOR
BIGGER SLICE: If you want a bigger share, stretch that bit further and make
sure you earn it
·
UNIVERSAL TRUTH:
“We LIMP to the
Office, we RUN home” (pre-VRS/reform days)
“We RUN to the Office,
we LIMP home” (post-VRS/reform days)
·
The world suffers from two
problems: The clever are full of doubts, while the stupid are absolutely sure!
·
PMA is an absolute necessity
for growth: Directing your thought process in a way that suits the institution
in the best possible manner is POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE. Let us develop PMA
·
Two options before you:
Customer has always been the NEXT BEST THING : Customer has always been the
BEST THING (choose the latter – the best choice)
·
AAATC: Avoid Arguments Across
The Counter: Good for health – yours and banks’ as well
·
Run out of ideas: Not a bad
idea to run after them
·
ENJOY DOING YOUR WORK, TAKE
PRIDE IN IT: Minus this, any amount of work you do will have very little
meaning
·
I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE: Most
of us, most of the times have seen most of the colleagues wearing this resigned
expression written all over them: what can I do? Get rid of this what-can-I-do
attitude. Just believe in this simple truth – “individual potential is
unlimited”
·
Give a man a fish; he will eat
for a day: Teach him how to fish, he will eat forever.*
·
Attentive & Sensitive To Customers’
Requests / Needs – let us be that.
·
The compulsion to be perfect is
the enemy of creativity*
·
Adversity? Treat it as an OPPORTUNITY !
·
If you want any thing said, ask
a man: If you want any thing done, ask a woman*
·
Win an argument: Lose a Customer,
Lose an argument: Win a Customer. Make your choice
·
Education is a progressive way
to discovery of ignorance*
·
Follow the two golden rules:#
Rule No 1: customer is
always right.
Rule No 2: If he is
wrong, re-read Rule No 1
